Karu Koli Expedition is a long 63-kilometre expedition to Koli. During the expedition, you will see a wide array of the nature of eastern Finland and walk on trails, forest roads and duckboards. We will take breaks in beautiful locations in the Finnish lake and forest scenery. The expedition ends at the summit of Koli, in the most famous natural landscape in Finland, where you can enjoy hotel shelter in the national park and relax and enjoy the view at the spa.
Who is the expedition for?
Karu Koli Expedition is intended for everyone who is interested in staying outdoors and who wants to learn more or improve their skills during a guided expedition. During the 6-day expedition, you will learn or revise the most important bushcraft skills required under the guidance of professional and clear instructors.
During the expedition, you will learn:
The basics of navigation
How to cook food over an open fire and use a portable stove
Food hygiene and storage
How to make different cooking equipment outdoors
The basics of first aid
What to do if you get lost
The trek includes:
One meal prepared over an open fire during the expedition
Personal guidance
Entrance to a spa
First and last nights in indoor accommodation
Transportation from the city of Joensuu
Please note:
Participants must have valid insurance, as well as a backpack, basic outdoor equipment, a sleeping bag, sleeping pad, tent or similar and clothing suitable for the season. Participants must be in a normal state of health.
