On the Karu Arctic Bushcraft course, you will learn more about winter equipment, how to move around in the wilderness in winter, and how to survive potentially dangerous winter conditions. You will learn more about what kind sof temporary shelter are suitable for winter conditions as well as how to conserve energy when staying outdoors in the winter. You will also go ice fishing and prepare food over an open fire. You will learn the basics of how to hike through snowy forest with snowshoes or skis.

We will stay the night in a cabin, large heated tent out in the open or in a temporary shelter. The first and last night of the course will be in a cabin so that you are well rested after the course.

Who is the course for?

Karu Arctic Bushcraftis intended for everyone who is interested in winter bushcraft skills and who wants to learn new skills or expand their existing skills. During this one-week course, you will learn the comprehensive bushcraft skills required in winter under the guidance of professional and clear instructors. The course teaches you skills to move around independently outdoors in winter and to develop your skills on your own.

The Karu Arctic Bushcraft course is held in the North Karelia region of eastern Finland. You will stay the nights in a cabin, large heated tent or temporary shelter depending on days program.

DAY 7. Home coming

 

The course includes:

·       All food enjoyed during the course

·       All equipment and material required during training

·       Personal guidance

·       First and last nights in indoor accommodation

Please note:

Participants must have valid insurance as well as a sleeping bag, sleeping pad and appropriate clothing for the season.  Participants will stay the night in cabin, heated tent and a temporary shelter built during the course, weather permitting. In the cabin accommodation is arranged in one sheared room in own sleeping pads. Participants must be in a normal state of health.
